The Projectionist Funded through Hot Shots Plus

The Projectionist is one of 11 projects selected by Screen Australia to share in $989,000 of Hot Shots Plus funding, which will encompass both production funding to make a short film, and development funding to progress the project to a feature film.

 

 

Produced by Kirsty Stark and written and directed by Marcus McKenzie (pictured), both the short film and the feature length version will tell the story of a recently widowed pensioner who discovers he can travel into the world of his old Super 8mm home movies and revisit his life as a young man, allowing him to come to terms with the present.

Marcus’ previous work includes the feature film Crew Cut, for which he was awarded Best Emerging Filmmaker at the South Australian Screen Awards.
